About Us

Many entrepreneurs feel compelled to tell you their story and I’m no exception. For years my wife Tula and I had been following our daughter, Jill Symons’ development as a glass artist. Compelled by the beauty of glass lampwork beads, my wife and I took a one-week course in lampwork beadmaking.

While living in Germany, Jill started using a new source of hand-pulled glass rods for her work, and has been using it; separately and in combination with Moretti ever since. When Jill returned to the US, she was loath to give up the Lauscha glass she loved.

As a retired Chemical Engineer, it seemed a simple enough thing to import Lauscha glass from Germany and make it available to Jill and other glass artists here. The domain name "GlassDaddy" was a Father's Day gift to me from Jill. (I suspect she had ulterior motives here!)

Combining our passion for glass beads with more than ten years experience in ISO 9000 Quality Systems and customer service, importing Lauscha glass seemed to be the perfect business marriage. Please feel free to email us if you have any questions!
